  • Vitamin E is more than an ingredient in many skin products. It also helps keep us beautiful on the inside by protecting our heart, diminishing the oxidation of fats (such as those in LDL – the “bad” cholesterol), and helping protect body tissues from free radical attack. By fending off free radicals, Vitamin E limits their damage and helps keep our cells healthy.

In the News: Nature Made responds to the recent claims regarding Vitamin E and Multivitamins

The Vitamin E family includes eight antioxidants: four tocopherols, and four tocotrienols, each designated as alpha-, beta-, gamma- and delta-. Alpha-tocopherol is the form of Vitamin E that has the most biological activity in the human body. Antioxidants work best when taken in combination. Vitamin E and Vitamin C work as a strong antioxidant team, and taking them together enhances their effectiveness.

Vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin and found naturally in such foods as nuts and vegetable oils. Unfortunately, consuming high quantities of these foods can lead to excessive calorie and fat intake, which is why taking supplements is a smart alternative. Nature Made Vitamin E supplements provide an effective means to supporting a healthy heart, including a water-soluble solution for those with difficulty absorbing fat.

  • Fight Aging With Antioxidants
Antioxidants are powerful nutrients that protect the healthy cells of the body from the negative effects of free radical compounds. Free radicals can result from a variety of causes such as normal metabolic reactions in the body, cigarette smoke, pollution and sun exposure. If free radical activity is left uncontrolled, then the health of the body can suffer. Thus, it is beneficial to consume antioxidant nutrients through your diet to help combat free radicals and promote overall health.

The one way to prevent this--and to increase your metabolism--is to maintain muscle mass through weight training exercise. Additionally, past age 35 the body tends to convert muscle to fat, and the only way to prevent it is to maintain those muscles!
