Traditional Winter Season Herb Goldenseal (Hydrastis canadensis) was revered by Native Americans for its properties.

Almost two centuries later, scientists have identified constituents in Goldenseal which are responsible for its continuing reputation as an herbal supplement used especially during the winter season.

Goldenseal is a member of the buttercup family. It grows in fertile woods from Vermont to Georgia.
